Advice for Trail Runners: Can't decide whether you need a road shoe or a trail shoe? The Nike Women's Pegasus Trail 4 in the Black/White-Olive Flak-Spring Green colourway can take you from the road to the trail.
Underfoot Feel
The Pegasus Trail 4 won't feel overly soft underfoot. However, React foam cushioning feels protective, energetic and stable. These attributes are well suited to running on a mixture of surfaces.
The rubber outsole improves grip on hard packed trails, while maintaining a smooth underfoot feel on the road. Rubber from the outsole wraps up onto the forefoot to minimise abrasion.
Upper Fit
Running on uneven terrain places more stress on the upper of a running shoe. The Nike Women's Pegasus Trail 4 is built with extra skins across the toes for better durability. If you're looking for support, a midfoot band helps keep your feet in place. Nike's signature Flywire technology further enhances structure.
Ideal Run Type
The Nike Pegasus Trail 4 is a great hybrid running shoe. By this, we mean it performs well on both road and trail surfaces. If your runs involve some sections of road as you get to and from trails, this is a great choice. However, this outsole will not cope with steeper ascents, descents, and muddy conditions.
Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone's feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles.
Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb's width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes).
This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
